Samoan Outrigger Hotel Upolu, Samoa
The Samoan Outrigger Hotel is set in a very well kept 120 year old historic colonial building, and is located on the Cross Island Road, only 15 minutes walk from downtown Apia.
The hotel offers three very affordable, clean and tidy accommodation options to suit the budget conscious traveller.
The traditional Samoan Fales are located within the lush tropical gardens of the property, and overlook the swimming pool.
Each of the Fales are equipped with Samoan hand woven mats, mosquito net canopies over the mattress, linen, in-room safe, outdoor furniture on the deck, electricity and power points.
The Standard Rooms are located upstairs in the colonial part of the building and offer the choice of room with its own en-suite, or room with shared facilities.
These rooms are basic but comfortable. They come fitted with ceiling fans, an in-room safe, and mosquito screening.
For those looking for that little extra comfort then the Air-Conditioned Rooms with En-suite is for you. They are located downstairs and each have a private outside patio area, telephone, mini fridge, television, tea & coffee making facilities, and a work desk.
Onsite you will find a swimming pool, a large outdoor covered dining area where breakfast is served, BBQ area, a small Bar that serves beer, soda, water and snacks. Pool table, lounge, a book shelf with reading material for guests to use during their stay, television, laundry facilities and a fully equipped communal kitchen. All showers have hot and cold running water.
During your stay you will also have the opportunity to learn about the Samoan culture from the staff at the hotel, be it through the stories they share with you, or their cultural showcase where you get to learn the Siva (Samoan dancing), and how to tie a sarong through demonstration.

120 Year old building. Great atmosphere
Upon entering the reception area you will be fascinated on how well the building has been maintained throughout the many many decades. The hotel still has that very colonial feel and look but with a slightly modern twist. The atmosphere within the Hotel is casual, comfortable and relaxed. It really gives off both a unique feel of the old colonial days and of course a real Samoan experience for those who choose to stay in the Fales.
