DAYPORTDETAILS
Papeete, TahitiPapeete, Tahiti (2 PM - 3 PM). "Maeva" [mah-yeh-vah]—that's "welcome" in Tahitian. We warmly welcome you to our French Polynesia cruise. Take a moment to settle in and meet your crew and cabin mates. We will begin our journey by setting sail for Moorea this evening. We will arrive late in the evening and spend the night at anchor.
Bora BoraThis morning, we are in Moorea, believed to be the inspiration for the mythical Bali Hai from James Michener's Tales of the South Pacific. Moorea features eight gargantuan mountain peaks that rise from its magnificent lagoon, creating a distinctive silhouette visible from the western coast of Tahiti. You have the option to participate in morning and afternoon half-day excursions: - Dolphin watching expedition led by Dr. Poole's biologist team - Culture Eco Tour. We will depart for Huahine late in the evening.
Bora Bora - HuahineHuahine, known as the birthplace of Polynesian culture and once inhabited by Tahitian royalty, boasts the largest concentration of ancient marae (temples) in French Polynesia. Some of these marae are believed to date back to around 700 AD. Huahine is a lush tropical jungle teeming with coconut plantations, vanilla orchids, banana groves, breadfruit trees, and watermelon fields. As part of our optional half-day tour, we will explore the island, visiting the charming villages of Maeva, an archaeological site, and a vanilla plantation. We will also have the opportunity to observe and feed the sacred blue-eyed eels of Faie Bay. Departure for Bora Bora will take place late at night, with an overnight journey at sea.
HuahineWe arrive early in the morning in Bora Bora, which is considered one of the most photographed places on earth. As our ship sails into the Bora Bora lagoon, we are greeted by the majestic Mount Otemanu in the center. During our time in Bora Bora, we can choose from various optional activities, including: a) A Bora Bora Cultural Safari by 4x4 b) An excursion to snorkel with stingrays and sharks and explore the lagoon c) The Bora Bora tour by "Le Truck" and more. We will depart late at night for Taha’a, and spend the night at sea.
Huahine - TahaEarly in the morning, we will arrive in Taha'a, an island that shares a stunning lagoon with Raiatea Island. This fertile island is adorned with banana, watermelon, and coconut groves, and it also serves as a natural greenhouse for the cherished Tahitian vanilla orchid. For those interested, there is an optional morning excursion that allows us to explore the island's picturesque interior using a 4x4 vehicle. Along the way, we will visit a pearl farm, a vanilla plantation, and a rum factory. This excursion offers a wonderful opportunity to delve into the culture of Taha'a, focusing on the black pearl and vanilla production, two of its prized treasures. Later in the day, we will have ample time to enjoy swimming and snorkeling around a "motu," which is a small reef islet. We will spend the night in port.
RaiateaEarly in the morning, we sail across the lagoon to reach nearby Raiatea, which is translated as "faraway heaven" and "sky with soft light." Originally called Havai'i, Raiatea is considered the ancestral home of the ancient Polynesians. During our time here, you'll have the option to participate in various activities, including: a) Morning tour with a local truck to Marae Taputapuatea. b) Morning or afternoon visit to Anapa Pearl farm. In the evening, we'll come together for our Farewell Dinner. We'll spend the night in port.
MooreaThis morning, you can explore the local market of Raiatea or choose to join our optional excursion to Faaroa River and Motu Beach. After lunch, we will sail to Papeete. We will spend the night at sea.
Papeete, TahitiEarly in the morning, we will sail to Tahiti and arrive in Papeete. You can disembark at 9:00 am after having breakfast.
