Day 2 Cairo, Overnight train (B)
Cairo is an exciting mix of history and contemporary metropolis. Visit the Egyptian Museum and prepare to be amazed by the vast trove of historical treasures this quirky building has to offer.
Days 3-4 Aswan (B,D)
Beautiful Aswan offers so many choices. Visit the famous High Dam and Unfinished Obelisk, or perhaps head to the island Temple of Philae. An optional tour to Abu Simbel will enable you to see some of the most magnificent monuments in the world. In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner at a local home, and experience real Nubian hospitality.
Days 5-6 Felucca Trip (2B,2L,2D)
Spend two days sailing in a traditional sailboat along the Nile. Take optional visits to the temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu by day and enjoy the peace of life on the river in the evenings, as you are looked after by your Nubian crew. Take full advantage of our one-of-a-kind support boat, which always seems to conveniently appear when you most need it for meals, cold drinks, or a quick shower to cool yourself off.
Days 7-9 Luxor, Overnight train (3B)
This city has been home to the treasures of the Luxor and Karnak Temples for centuries. A donkey ride takes you to the Valley of Kings and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
Day 10 Cairo
Take the chance to further explore this fascinating and ancient city. Head to the Citadel, once home of Egypt’s rulers, and walk back slowly through the bustling streets, or perhaps visit Khan el Khalili, Cairo’s evocative bazaar, and after tracking down a bargain or two, kick back in a cafe to watch the world go by.
Day 11 Mount Sinai (B)
Journey to Mount Sinai, where pilgrims have sought shelter since the fourth century. Climb the mountain for a glorious desert sunset.
